Teman Cooke
Teman Cooke here! I am a scientist, an artist, a writer, an educator, a student, and a philosopher.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, Teman Cooke knew he was going to be a scientist from a young age. H spent a year in France during his junior year of high school, and his experience there cemented physics as his science of choice. While there Teman performed consistently near the top of his physics class despite spending almost half of the school year barely able to speak French. His experiences abroad, as well as later experiences in high school and college physics courses, helped him understand the importance of good educators, and convinced him that he wanted to become one. In 1996 Teman Cooke graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a Bachelors of Science in Physics, and graduated from Georgia Institute of Technology with a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics in 2002. For the next seven and a half years he taught introductory physics and astronomy classes at Georgia Perimeter College. During that time Teman specialized in determining, clarifying, and assessing institutional and educational goals. Although he was offered tenure in 2010, he and his wife moved to Lancaster, Pennsylvania. There he has prepared taxes, studied financial advising, taught middle school science at the New School of Lancaster, taken a course on business design and feasibility analysis, and written a physics book based upon his experiences as a professor -- due to be published in August, 2013. Teman Cooke's current portfolio life is focused on digital artwork, educational consulting, and writing/publishing work.
